Finding God vs. Success in Life

In Brother Anondomoy's talk on "Your Thoughts Can Change Your Life," he relays the wisdom that cleared any doubt about these too being in conflict. He refers to finding God as the inner goal and success in life is the outer goal, so they can co-exist.
Making God the center of your life is of the essence, as any outer pursuits that are not in harmony with Gods laws are destine to fail.Your legacy can then be a harmonious expression of your inner journey. No conflict at all.
Brother goes to great lengths to stress that you should never permit any negative experience to become the center of your life. He warns, "to your inner computer that thought becomes the goal." Rather, he says, "Make God your environment."
